TO THE POETRY OF SILVER AGE

illustrations

A collection of Silver Age of Russian poetry. «And the silver moon shone brightly over the silver age», Anna Akhmatova called the «silver age» the time of her youth, which came at the beginning of the 20th century. This poetic definition was accepted by the literature of those times. Initially the Silver Age was understood mainly as an epoch of Russian modernism, a time of Symbolism and Akmeizm, a time of Aleksander Blok, Valery Bryusov, Anna Akhmatova, Osip Mandelstam. Gradually this list accommodates all of this era’s writers. This collection presents the lyrics of 25 poets, created before the early 1920s.
We made two illustrations for each author of this book. One of them was generalizing for all the work of certain poet and the other was a representation of one poem in our choice. It was not an easy job, as the authors are so different, each one has his own style, his own destiny. To unite them in a graphic technique was a difficult and interesting task.
The book was published by Rech Publishers in 2019.
